You could work at animal shelter, babysit, do some community service hours. But it also depends how much time you need to start it. Unless you know how everything is going to work when you start your horse ranch. You could do private lessons. Or be a trainer.

Hi, thank you for reading,

Can anyone show me any directions/websites to find blueprints or plans to build a large horse ranch?
Not just plans for a stable or a barn, but the entire landscape. What kind of facilities are needed for a large horse ranch? If possible, the plan is for at least over 100 acres and accustom for over 100 horses.

Thank you again. I am asking for someone else.

I think your’e going to have a hard time getting a satisfactory answer to this question because we need more information from you:

What discipline of riding? What level?
Will this be privately owned & operated or a public boarding faciity?
Do you want an indoor arena? Size would be dictated by the type of discipline you wish to practice..
Will you be breeding? Foaling stalls are larger, and breeding ‘barns’ are larger and usually accommodate stocks to service the stallions..

If you’re doing a racing facility, is it flat racing or trotters? I believe track length will be dictated by that.. Dressage arenas have to abide by regulations, too.

Will you anticipate having a trainer at this facility? More than one? If so you should probably have several arenas to accommodate them, and other clients who aren’t interested in riding *with* that trainer, but want to ride at the same time.

Is this for a cold environment? Warm? Different hydration and insulations properties apply.
Will you have a residence on the property? What about offering housing for the help? Or will they live off site.. if so, you need to plan for extra parking for the staff for those 100 head..

So you see, there’s plenty of variables that need to be addressed before you can find building plans for you.. Your question is too complex..

What is it called when an adolescent receives a guilty verdict for a crime but rather than prison, must attend a ranch of some sort, usually a horse ranch? I know there are RTC (Residential Treatment Center). but what if it’s not something that needs treatment, more a teen who needs to learn a lesson and completely a certain number of volunteer hours?

It is horse therapy. It teaches confidence, compassion, and how to care for and take responsibility for something outside themselves. Rehab is for more than just drugs and the like. Attitudes and lack of discipline require treatment just as much as anything else you would go to a RTC for. For teens, the treatment center is more about nipping the problem in the bud before it leads to something worse such as drugs and prison. If you are being sent to a RTC, it is because a few hours of volunteering didn’t seem sufficient to get the point across.

Hope I have the right catagory. If not tell me what you would recommend.

Depends.

I’m assuming by ‘ranch’ you imply that it’s a western farm.

If so, probably Nevada.

Kentucky or Montana are also good choices.

On cattle, and around the ranch. No, not any events, im talking actual hard work on a ranch. Will they need to rope, pen, or cut cattle? and what else around the ranch will be worked on?
Could you give me details on the work they do?

It all depends on the horse and their abilities essentially.

My family is currently located in Missouri, we have lots of horses, rescue horses from slaughter and re-home them, as well as work on the neighbor’s cattle ranch.

Next week my family will be relocating our farm to Wyoming, where we will run a working cattle and horse ranch.

As of right now, our horses are required to almost be dead broke. We can’t have a horse fighting us while we are trying to work. It just doesn’t work well and can cause some major problems, and it could even be dangerous.

A lot of horses don’t like fast objects moving past their face, so the horses must be ok with us roping off of them.
This would include cases of branding calves or any animal, ear tagging, catching runaway steers or horses, catching a steer or horse (etc) for medical conditions (vet etc). Basically catching something for a purpose.

Cutting, your horse needs to have the quick movements, and be able to follow that animal. Mainly, horses who do this, were specially bred for this job. However, both my first horses were taught how to do it as it’s not really in their blood. Cutting originated because people needed to single out an animal from the herd to either brand, tag, or treat it for medical reasons. It then resulted in a sport because cowboys wanted to see who had the better cutting horse.

Penning, is where you separate cattle into pens for different things, such as transportation, vet care, and branding etc. It’s similar to cutting.

As for what a horse will need to do, depends on what you will need the horse to do, and the horse’s ability. If you don’t need to pen or cut cattle, then it won’t be necessary. Depending on where you live and the terrain, your horse must be able to deal with it. If you have mountains, make sure your horse can handle that.
Long work days, make sure your horse can handle from sun up to sun down pretty much. It’s not all like that though, some ranches don’t work all day, it depends on the work load and how fast you can get it done. Depending on the ranch life some ranches do cattle drives, if you do that the horse must be able to travel, and go long distances.
Your horse must be able to control a herd of animals (whether it’s horses, sheep, cattle etc.)
They must be fast, must be in shape, and must respond to ques given by rider.

Again it’s all about the horse’s ability and what work you will need a horse to do.

Hope I helped!
Good luck! (:

For me, I would wear the flats. Granted it might not look as good but you don’t want to hit a rut in the road and fall and mess up the dress. I ride horses and i can hardly walk around the place without slipping or tripping and I wear tennis shoes. If you want to not fall wear flats. If you don’t mind risking it wear heels.

Also you could find wedges that aren’t wooden. I have a pair that are wedges but all black. I can’t remember where i got them but its a suggestion you can take into mind.
