During 2 terms as President, Bush spent all or of part of 487 days at Camp David, on retreats and made 77 trips to his Crawford Ranch, in Texas, where he spent all or part of 490 days, on his Ranch.
The total number of days of vacation or retreat President Bush took, while in office over a period of 8 years was 977 days, or 32% of his total time in office, was spent on vacations or retreats.

Yeah, but you’re using context. It makes better marketing technique if you avoid context.

Obama has no chance at matching his pace, even if he tripled his vacation time at this point.

for the record, george w took over 2 years of vacation time during his 2 terms. probably a good thing since all he ever did was cripple a nation when working.

CBS’s Mark Knoller has been keeping records of Presidential vacations for many years now, and this is what he has recorded:

So far, President Obama has taken 61 vacation days after 31 months in office.

At this point in their presidencies, George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch where his staff often joined him for meetings. And Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch.

Among recent presidents, Bill Clinton took the least time off — 28 days.

I would never be critical of vacation time for presidents. I’m glad that Obama can have relaxation time.

Ranch vacations for non-horsey and horsey people both?

My mom and I would like to take atrip together this year, and we decided that a ranch/spa combination would be good for both of us- she can spend her days at the spa, and I can spend every possible moment of mine with horses.

Does anyone know of any places that would offer something like this? I am a competent rider, so I would only be interested in places with "serious" riding programs, not just ploddy horses.

As we see Obama loves to vacation, party, play golf, basketball and do everything but his job. Dems claimed BUSH took more vacation than any POTUS yet we are unable to find any such vacations that BUSH took. Bush always went home to his own ranch. Can anyone find any equivalent exotic vacations that Bush took in 8 yrs?

Why don’t you try googling how many vacation days Bush took, and then matching it up VS how many days he actually worked.

I have seen the numbers before and it is amazing. But I care so less about either guy I am going to ad to your troll posting.

On my dads side of the family we’re going to a dude ranch which will be really fun but now on my moms side we also want to go on vacation and we’ve been to Disney and the beach A MILLION times! So we wanted to know ideas. We want it to be something like a Dude ranch but not the same thing cuz they don’t want to copy. We live in pennsylvania so Try to keep the spots on the east coast thanks.

My Gma loves this commercial and I cant seem to find it

It involves a man asking for a lottery ticket, and the cashier tells him he could win a vacation, and the man starts imagining hes out on the beach with a girl doing the hula dance and hes rubbing tanning lotion on his face. Then the cashier asks if hes going to pay for the ranch dressing, that the man is smearing on his face.

wow, where should i start? im 16 and live on the eastcost in a good sized city that i hate with all of my guts. ive ridden and been around horses ever since i was little because my mom took lessons, and i started taking lessons when i was 5. i was a stablehand for 3 years (ages 10, 11, 12). ive learned basic training methods from a few trainers and have assisted them. i ride everyway, english, dressage, jumping, western, pleasure, trail, gaming, bareback…and im not scared to ride any kind of horse…hence the reasons ive had a fractured tailbone and jaw lol. i recently saw an ad for a vacation ranch in calorado and was looking at the site, obviously ill never have enough money to go there. i want to do something with horses when i get older and i dont want to waste time in collage, i also dont want a stupid job that i hate. so how about working at one of these ranch vacation places? obviously i want to be around horses whether its just mucking stalls and working with new ones, or guiding trail rides and taking care of the stable, i dont care what i do! but i do know i want to work at one. so i need to know all i can, help? anything required to work there? qualifications? how is housing figured out? do i have to have my own place and drive there, or can i live on the ranch? i loveee to make people happy and im extremely passonate about horses…info? please??

I think that what you need to do is find some stables that you would be intersted in working at and contact them with all of your questions.

Just curious. I’m thinking about how much these so called vacations that presidents take cost us and what they say about the people behind them. I think the argument about anyone golfing is dumb, many successful businessmen play a good amount of golf for a good reason. It focuses you. You can think while you’re preparing to tee off, you can relax and enjoy good scenery. It is like taking some stress off of ones job because you’ll collapse under the weight if you don’t.

Hey, I’m not complaining. I’d personally pay Obama’s per diem for the rest of his life to never step foot in the White House again.
