Cattle ranch and Horse ranch..?
February 182010
There is no difference between and cattle ranch/ acreage to a horse ranch/acreage right? Just wondering because we’re going to be moving to Arkansas. :]
Thankss.
Well, I have 3 horses, so thats why I was asking lol. I can’t find a lot of ranches and horse farms around Hot Springs. The one I found is in Ash Flat, lol.
I’m from Arkansas and currently live here. I don’t think there is a Big difference but it matters what kind of land your going to be using it for. Cattle ranch is more suitable for cattle of course and same as horse ranch is more suitable for horses. What would you be wanting to us the land for? I’m sure a cattle ranch isn’t as well "kept" unlike a horse ranch would be short grass for horses. What part in Arkansas are you moving to? That makes a BIG difference as well! Do you have pictures of the place?

Horses require more acres than cattle do. At least 2-3 acres of pasture is needed per horse in order to maintain forage productivity. In more arid climates, of course, a horse may need more. Depending on how big a ranch you get, your 3 horses might be just fine and you could purchase a few more!
